How we remove film

  1. Protect frames, sills, flooring, and nearby furniture.
  2. Soften the film and adhesive with controlled heat or steam where appropriate.
  3. Peel the film and remove residual adhesive with solvents and plastic or fresh razor blades suited to the glass.
  4. Inspect the glass and seals; note any pre-existing scratches or seal failure for you.
  5. Deep-clean the glass, ready for new film or left clear.

Things to know

Removal time varies a lot. Very old film can come off in small pieces and the adhesive can be stubborn. We quote removal separately so you can see it clearly. If glass is coated or tempered, we use methods that won't scratch it, and we'll point out any existing damage before starting.

If your old film failed due to a manufacturing defect and is still under warranty, check your paperwork — the manufacturer may cover part of the replacement.
