A film that works in both directions: it rejects solar heat coming in and reflects interior heat back into the room.
"Low-E" means low emissivity. These films carry a microscopically thin metallic coating that reflects long-wave infrared (radiant heat). In summer, they reject a share of incoming solar heat like other solar films. On cooler nights, they help reflect heat from the room back inside instead of letting it radiate out through the glass.
If your windows already have factory low-E glass, adding a low-E film may offer limited extra benefit and some combinations aren't recommended. We check for existing coatings with a meter before quoting.
Film can reduce heat gain and help the AC keep up, but actual savings depend on your home, orientation, insulation, equipment, and habits. We share manufacturer performance data, not guaranteed bill reductions.
